Electrical testing for Landlord Electrical Safety Certificates
It is a legal requirement for landlords to have an EICR. This includes private landlords, housing associations and local authorities. The report must be carried out by a qualified electrician and should be renewed every five years or whenever the tenant changes. It is also recommended that homeowners have an EICR carried out at least every 10 years to ensure their electrical installation is safe and sound.
Landlords who do not provide an EICR when renting out a property can face penalties. This includes fines of up to £5,000 and/or a criminal record. It is also possible that the local authority could take legal action against the landlord if they fail to comply with their legal obligations.

Periodic electrical inspections of commercial premises
Every company director has a duty of care to ensure the workplace is a safe environment for all employees as well as public. Identifying safety risks is crucial and in all establishments one of the potential risk can be unsafe wiring.
Unsafe electrical systems can have dire consequences: it can cause a fire which in turn may wipe out company assets, can cause injury or death. Therefore weighing risk against cost of having installation properly maintained makes many employers choose to have a qualified electrician employed guarding electrical safety at theirs premises.
Such Electrical Safety Inspection if carried out appropriately will identify any potential hazards as well as faults in the electrical installation, and greatly reduce probability of a fire or accident.
PAT testing for commercial and domestic clients
PAT testing (Portable Appliance Testing) is a process of inspecting and testing electrical appliances to ensure they are safe for use. It involves checking the appliance for any signs of damage or wear and tear, as well as testing the insulation resistance and earth continuity.
PAT testing is important because it can help to identify potential safety hazards before they become serious, reducing the risk of electric shocks or fires.
Expert Spark provides routine and regular electricity testing and inspection at all levels that might be required, including PAT testing.
